Model 5162


Only 3.5 inches high, this lightweight, load tolerant, linear amplifier at 0.8-4.2 GHz, 28W, is ideally suited to RF immunity testing, and is input overdrive protected against the maximum output signal of a signal generator (+20dBm). Model 5162 is also ideal for the test of wireless and communication components and subsystems. This amplifier covers all the major bands, including CDMA, W-CDMA, TDMA and GSM.

Overview

OPHIR RF designs and manufactures high power, solid state, broadband and band-specific amplifiers. Our products range in frequency from 10 kHz to 8 GHz, with power levels from 1 Watt to above 2 kilowatts. OPHIR RF designs and manufactures its products in the USA.

Established in 1992 by a group of engineers with diverse talents and backgrounds, the company’s initial charter was to design the most challenging of broadband linear amplifiers. The knowledge and design experience gained through the years has since allowed OPHIR RF to supply both RF and microwave amplifiers, broadband and band-specific, to the EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility), Defense and Communication markets.

Today, design, manufacturing, customer support and other company operations are carried out in our 40,000 square-foot headquarters, located in Los Angeles, California.

OPHIR RF serves the commercial market and the military. Our key commercial markets are EMC and Communications. EMC customers include system integrators, the automotive and medical industries, universities and national laboratories. Communication customers are comprised of fixed and mobile wireless infrastructure manufacturers and satellite service providers. Applications include cellular, paging, PCS, and Wireless Local Loop. Our communication amplifiers address all major modulation schemes, such as CDMA, TDMA, GSM and IMT2000/UMTS. Our design pedigree naturally makes us a major provider of RF and microwave amplifiers for defense applications, such as electronic warfare, ECM (Electronic Counter Measures), radar and telemetry, as well as defense communications.

The outstanding quality of OPHIR RF’s amplifiers translates into superior performance and reliability in the toughest environments. Quality is monitored at each step in the assembly process and final test data is delivered with every unit (special test data requirements can be provided as necessary). This commitment to quality is backed by a multiyear warranty on parts and labor, and our staff of application engineers is ready to support customers from our facilities, or even at the customer’s location when needed.
